"...from the town hall" - 19.01.2024

Dear fellow residents

It is more than a living tradition that the soldiers of our sponsor company from Kastellaun carry out a house and street collection campaign on Remembrance Day to care for the graves of fallen soldiers.

Once again this year, the soldiers of the 2nd Information Technology Battalion 282 stood in the Globus Handelshof for several days with collection tins and also personally approached fellow residents at home to make donations.

Many collection tins were also placed in retail stores and in places frequented by the public.

The sergeant major of the sponsoring company proudly reports that after counting the collection results, a proud sum of €6,318.66 was collected. Of this, €5,366.20 was collected in Zell alone. That is a new record sum.

Marc Weiler, Sergeant Major and Company Sergeant Major, writes: "It always makes me proud to have such a great, lively and warm sponsorship as with Zell an der Mosel, to maintain it and, above all, to live it."

Together with the soldiers and their company commander, Major Büchner, I would like to sincerely thank all donors on behalf of the town of Zell (Mosel) for their generous donations.

The money will go towards honoring the memory, respect and appreciation of the soldiers who lost their lives in the war, often at a young age.
