The districts of Zell (Mosel)

Zell is divided into the core city, the districts of Kaimt, Barl and Merl and the Althaus settlement on the Hunsrück. A total of around 4,000 people live in Zell, the city is the seat of the Zell (Mosel) municipality of the same name.

Today all parts belong together and together form our beautiful wine town, but the history - especially of Kaimt, Zell and Merl - could hardly be more different.

The townhall of Zell (Mosel)

The Zell town hall is the seat of the town administration of Zell, and the Zeller Land tourist information is also located here.

Due to its multifunctional use, the town hall is a contact point for citizens and guests alike.

Education in Zell (Mosel)

Zell (Mosel) is a comparatively small town, but still has a very good infrastructure. This also includes the educational institutions that accompany your children as they grow up and take the steps towards adulthood.

After attending one of the three kindergartens in Zell, Kaimt or auf dem Barl, they attend elementary school in the district of Kaimt before they can graduate from the IGS up to the Abitur.

Facts and history

The Latin name of the town of Zell - "Cella" - stands in interesting contrast to the Celtic names of the two districts "Kaimt" and "Merl".

The wine town of Zell looks back on more than 2,000 years of history, which is reflected in impressive buildings, winding streets and, last but not least, in the picturesque town centre.

Parking and mobility

There is a large number of parking spaces in our wine town, but especially during the high season in the summer months, the many holidaymakers and guests in Zell quickly make parking spaces in the town center tight.

With a look at our city map, you can keep an overview and find various paid and free parking spaces in Zell (Mosel). On the following page we will also inform you about e-charging stations for your electric vehicle and local public transport.

Zell (Mosel) maintains partnerships with four locations in Germany and Europe: Triptis in Thuringia, Crépy-en-Valois in France, Antoing in Belgium and Plonsk in Poland.

Our partners from other towns and communities are regular guests when festivals are celebrated in Zell an der Mosel.

Life in the town of Zell (Mosel) is characterized by a colorful and active club life.

Event hall of Zell

The event hall of Zell (Mosel) is the venue for a wide variety of events, celebrations and meetings.

Up to 500 guests can be accommodated in the "Zeller-Schwarze-Katz-Halle", the stage offers enough space for lectures, concerts and other performances of all kinds.

Webcam in Zell (Mosel)

A webcam is installed on the pedestrian bridge between Zell and Kaimt, which you can use to get a view of our wine town of Zell an der Mosel from anywhere in the world - and from a total of nine different angles.

A "greeting point" has been set up on the banks of the Moselle on the Zeller side, where you can greet your friends and relatives while they are watching via the webcam.

Nothing beats a visit to our wine town, but you can at least satisfy your longing for Zell (Mosel) a little.
